The Board of Rotorua Community Hospice is pleased to announce the appointment of Ross Mortimer as our new Chief Executive, commencing Friday 12th December.
Ross brings extensive experience in health leadership, strategic funding, and purpose-driven organisational development. His professional journey spans Hospice, youth health, and community services, and he has maintained strong ties to Rotorua throughout his career. He joins us from his current role as Chief Executive of Anamata CAFE Trust, where he has built enduring partnerships across both the health and community sectors.
Ross’s leadership style is grounded in humility, accountability, and trust — qualities that align closely with our Hospice values and will strengthen our ongoing commitment to delivering compassionate, community-focused care.
On being appointed, Ross shared:
“Returning to Rotorua, where I grew up and proudly call home, makes this appointment especially meaningful. It is a privilege to give back to an organisation that has supported my own whānau in profound ways. I’m honoured to join the Rotorua Community Hospice team and work alongside such a dedicated group to continue delivering the high-quality care for which the Hospice is known. I look forward to engaging with the community, listening to their stories, and working together to carry this important mahi forward.”
