After the recent resignation of its CEO, Rotorua Community Hospice has appointed local health professional, Philippa Williams as its Interim CEO.
Ms Williams will commence at Rotorua Hospice on Monday, 19 May, and is likely to be in the role for approximately four months while recruitment for a permanent CEO gets underway.
Rotorua Community Hospice Trust Chair, Merlin Mills, says the board is pleased to have secured Ms Williams to the interim role.
“Philippa has extensive, relevant experience which will add value to Rotorua Hospice in the interim.
“Originally training and working as a physiotherapist, more recently Philippa has held a range of different management and governance roles, as well as being involved in medical research.
“She is an active member of the local Rotorua community, which is critically important for an organisation like Hospice, which has the care and support of local people at its heart.
“We welcome her expertise in guiding Rotorua Hospice through its next phase of development, which will help set us up to continue supporting our community long into the future.”
Mr Mills says the Board encourages Rotorua Hospice stakeholders, and members of the community, to actively engage with Ms Williams, the Hospice organisation and its people.
