Christmas is generally the time of year when we think of people who won’t be with us during the festive season – they may have died, they may be living overseas or in other parts of the country, or perhaps just can’t be with you at this time of year.
The Tree of Remembrance is a way to honour those we think of and to support Rotorua Hospice.
For four days before Christmas, we had local supermarkets in Rotorua support us and host a tree. Over 100 volunteers gave their time to sit with the trees and give the community an opportunity to remember someone and donate to Hospice.
We were absolutely blown away with the total coming in over $9000. Thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered.
We would like to acknowledge the following organisations for hosting us:
• New World
• Countdown Fairy Springs
